Nurses who have registered in New Zealand but haven't been practising for 5+ years are required to complete Competence Assessment Program (CAP). Nurses who have registered with New Zealand Nursing Council (NZNC) before December 4, 2023 must successfully complete CAP.
The competency assessment programmes are provided by Nursing Council-accredited providers including schools of nursing, health service providers, and district health boards. Some of the CAP providers are given below:
